49ers ranked among the best in NFL by Vegas oddsmakers
The San Francisco 49ers head into the unpredictable 2020 NFL season with optimism after a Super Bowl appearance in February. Las Vegas books agree. However, can they live up to their high expectations?
The San Francisco 49ers have unfinished business in 2020. Their offense sputtered in the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs.
In addition to adding seven-time Pro Bowl left tackle Trent Williams, the 49ers added offensive weapons in the draft. The first-round selection of wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk and Williams will provide much-needed help on the offensive side of the football.

San Francisco ranks in the top four in games as a favorite in 2020. Of the 17 games this season, there are 13 in which the 49ers are a favorite. Not only are they a strong favorite during the regular season, but they have top-three Super Bowl odds at +1000.
The only teams that have better favorite numbers and Super Bowl odds are the Baltimore Ravens (16, +700) and the Chiefs (14, +600).
The New Orleans Saints find themselves with a better regular-season projection (14 games favored in) while their Super Bowl odds fall below the 49ers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+1100 and 12 games favored in).
While we wait for the NFL to release its schedule, the 49ers know they will be facing the following opponents.
- Both Home and Away: Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, and Seattle Seahawks
- Home: Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins, and Washington Redskins
- Away: Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, New York Giants, New York Jets, and New Orleans Saints

It will be fun for the 49ers to face all four teams with the word “New” in their city.
In 2020, Kyle Shanahan had his first head coaching season above .500. He had his team in the top 10 in almost all important NFL categories this past season.
Shanahan, who was the AP NFL Assistant Coach of the Year in 2016, was surprisingly not the Coach of the Year in 2019. John Harbaugh, who coached the Ravens to a 14-2 record last season, won the award.
However, the Coach of the Year award does not necessarily lead to a Super Bowl championship. The last Coach of the Year winner to win the Super Bowl was Bill Belichick in 2003.
In terms of other awards, No. 14 overall pick of the 2020 Draft Javon Kinlaw looks to be a good value bet (+2500) at the Defensive Rookie of the Year award at BetMGM.
The San Francisco 49ers are ready to have another successful season, and their Las Vegas odds are strong. 49ers fans hope that the results are even better than the projections.
