49ers: 3 positions that must be addressed in the offseason
By Tee Epps
2. Wide Receiver
Another area I would like to see an upgrade in is the wide receiver position. Outside of Deebo Samuel, Richie James, and Kendrick Bourne, every other current wide-out has a question mark next to their name.
More from San Francisco 49ers
- 49ers sign new long snapper amidst a flurry of roster moves
- 49ers: George Kittle and Deebo Samuel cleared to return to practice
- 49ers expected to place DE Dee Ford on injured reserve
- 49ers sign TE Daniel Helm off the Buccaneers practice squad
- 49ers: Jordan Reed could miss up to two months, will be placed on IR
Will Emmanuel Sanders return? Could Marquise Goodwin be possible trade bait? Trent Taylor and Jalen Hurd are recovering from surgeries — how impactful can they be? Dante Pettis — enough said.
So, going into the new season I’m sure upgrading the position has to be on their to-do list. Walking that fine line of making a big splash versus staying the course is such an underrated aspect of managing a professional football team.
The 49ers have been doing an awesome job of building a winning culture while adding complementary talent. So far the formula has been paying huge dividends, and their recent success can be attributed to the foundation that was put in place.
