Oakland Raiders: 3 keys to victory in Week 7 against the Green Bay Packers

2. Exploit Green Bay’s defensive backs
There’s no doubt that the Packers have a strong defense, but there is one place they are vulnerable. So, you can expect Jon Gruden to use this weakness against the Packers.
In their game on Monday, the Packers gave up plenty of deep passes down the field. This is something the Raiders have to do if they want to win. They won’t be able to run the ball all that well because Green Bay has a very strong front-seven, but the passing game is their chance to do some things.

However, the Raiders could have one problem. That problem could be that Oakland lacks a deep threat, which is key in order to stretch the Packers’ defense and move the ball up the field in big chunks.
Their best option in order to go over the top is Tyrell Williams. He’s a good receiver and if they want to stretch the defense they’ll need to get him involved in the offense.
A good passing game from Derek Carr will obviously be important for this idea to be set into motion. If not, the Raiders won’t win the game.
If they also start to force the Packers defensive backs to think pass then they can unleash Josh Jacobs for some rushing yards against their fierce front-seven.
Either way, they have to take advantage of this area of weakness that the Packers have on their defense because if they don’t, it could be a long afternoon for the silver and black. Scoring is also important when it comes to winning games, so this will be key in order to do just that.
