2. Marquese Chriss continues to make his case for a roster spot

With pretty much the Warriors entire big-man depth out with injury — minus Omari Spellman and the newly-signed Kavion Pippen — it was Marquese Chriss who once again earned the start at center.

Chriss signed with the Warriors a little over two weeks ago and while it seemed like a depth signing at the time, the former No. 8 overall draft pick has managed to turn some heads this October.

More from Golden State Warriors

The 22-year-old finished Monday’s game with a double-double securing 14 points and 11 rebounds in a losing effort. This comes following an eight-point, 11-rebound effort in the previous game against Minnesota.

Chriss has earned the support of both the Warriors coaching staff and his fellow teammates and continues to make his case for a roster spot. The talented big man has always been an athletic specimen, but what’s really been impressive has been his screening and passing abilities.

For the third straight game, Chriss finished with four assists and looked the part as the athletic rim-runner the Phoenix Suns hoped he would become.

Chriss has exceeded expectations this October and at this point, he’s likely to earn a roster spot somewhere, whether it’s with Golden State or not.

And that spells bad news for a certain Warriors player with a non-guaranteed contract.
