1. Starters

De’Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield, Harrison Barnes, Marvin Bagley, Dewayne Dedmon

This lineup has two young stars in De’Aaron Fox and Marvin Bagley, who can run pick and roll. Fox can also run it with Dewayne Dedmon. Both are great vertical spacers and can also be a pop threat. Bagley is particularly dynamic because of his mobility.

I would especially start Bagley over someone like Nemanja Bjelica or Trevor Ariza, who offer more spacing, because of Bagley’s fantastic ability to get off the ground quickly. He is one of the quickest leapers in the league.

This is largely why he’s such an effective rebounder and great at winning jump balls. He averaged 10.8 rebounds per 36 minutes last season.

Along with the two young stars in Bagley and Fox, they also have Buddy Hield, who doesn’t really fit into the category of a young player anymore, at age 26. However, he has only played three years in the NBA so he’s still relatively inexperienced.

He is one of the best shooters in the league, having a breakout season in 2018-19, shooting the lights out from three at 42.7% on 7.9 attempts per game. For reference, by the time Stephen Curry was 25 years old (as Hield was last season), he shot 42.4% on 7.9 attempts per game.

If that is the sort of career path that Buddy Hield will take then Kings fans have every right to be excited.

To cap off this lineup, they have two veterans in Dedmon and Harrison Barnes. Both are good defenders and rebounders who can space the floor well for their respective positions.

They also lend some veteran leadership and experience to this Kings starting unit, making sure they stay calm in important situations.
