Round 2, Pick 55 — Kyle Guy (Virginia)
Sacramento continued to stay away from addressing their frontcourt when they picked up Virginia standout Kyle Guy late in the second round. The Kings were originally scheduled to have the 47th pick but they swapped with the New York Knicks in exchange for cash considerations.

It’s easy to see what the Kings saw in Guy. He was a two-year starter at a major program like Virginia and his heroics helped lead the Cavaliers to their first NCAA National Championship in school history.
Guy is a plus three-point shooter having shot 42.5% from deep throughout his three-year college career. However, the rest of his game might need some work.
Guy doesn’t offer much as a playmaker and facilitator on the offensive side of the floor and his defensive game is nearly nonexistent. Combine that with the fact that he’s just 6-foot-2 — well below the average for NBA shooting guards — and his role in the pros becomes a bit murky.
The Kings will be hoping that he could overcome his size deficiency and that he could improve his overall defensive game. Even if one of those things happen, Guy might be able to find a role in the NBA.
If not, he might be destined for the G-League.
