Golden State Warriors continue to make history behind Klay Thompson

The Golden State Warriors continue their playoff series filled with historic oddities and each game seems to be stranger than the last.

The Golden State Warriors have been etching their names into history this playoff series against the Rockets in ways both good and bad.

In an intense game six, the Warriors managed to break out of their slump to force a game seven in Houston.

Some things need to be put in perspective to fully understand how insane what we are watching actually is.

In this game six, the Houston Rockets led by as many as 17 in the first half — and the Warriors still managed to win the game by almost 30 points.

This isn’t just some “oh wow, that’s pretty crazy” number, or random, meaningless statistic.

This is in fact the craziest, most insane number, ever, ever.

Ever.

It’s hard to even wrap your head around what’s been happening in this series, but the fact that it seems to be happening every game, is making it seem almost expected.

Enter Klay Thompson, who might as well be nicknamed Mr. Game Six at this point.

Klay Thompson finished the game with 35 points on 9/14 shooting from the three point line.  That may sound like a lot and it is.  It’s actually so much that it tied for the second most three pointers in a playoff game.

Game six, two years ago, when the Golden State Warriors eventually beat the Oklahoma City Thunder after being down three games in the Western Conference Finals.

In a season filled with media members crying about parity and bemoaning the death of the NBA as a result of Kevin Durant and his decision to join the Warriors, the final result seems almost too much like an attempt to show how equal the NBA really is.

For the first time since 1979, the NBA will be showcasing two game sevens in the conference finals.

To put that in perspective, the three-point shot did not exist the last time there were two game sevens. That’s how long its been since this has happened.

And as if that weren’t weird enough for you, the 2017-2018 NBA regular season kicked off with it’s first two games being the Houston Rockets vs the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics vs the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Yes this is all very weird.  History is happening.
