San Francisco 49ers: Three most important offseason additions
Dante Pettis, WR
The identity of the San Francisco 49ers now begins and ends with quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo. the suprise success of Garoppolo in 2017 gave new life to the franchise.
Because of this, the team must do whatever they can to surround their franchise player with talent, in order to ensure he finds success. If Jimmy G succeeds, then the team succeeds– its quite simple.

This is precisely why the team spent their second round pick in last month’s NFL Draft on wide receiver from Washington, Dante Pettis, and precisely why his addition is so important for the team.
Adding Pettis to the offense gives Garoppolo three very good threats on the outside, these three being Pettis, Pierre Garcon and Marquise Goodwin.
Pettis projects well as a slot receiver, given his elite route running ability and quickness. This a role the offense desperately needed a playmaker at, and now has.
On top of his abilities as a receiver, Pettis was one of the best punt returners in college football, holding the record for most punt return touchdowns with nine. While punt returner is not a particularly important position, it is another aspect of the game where Pettis will be able to make plays for the team.
