#4: Keury Mella – Mella, signed out of the Dominican Republic at the age of 18 by the Giants, has yet to make it higher than Advanced Single-A San Jose.

Mella has a lot of raw talent that needs more maturing. He owns a career 3.57 strikeouts to walk ratio in his minor league career. When you see that this season he has 19 strikeouts to three walks in 17.2 innings of work as a starter, you can tell the talent is there and that he’s a strike thrower.
Mella’s issue though has been leaving too many pitches in the strike zone when he is ahead in the count — which is shown by his 4.58 ERA and 21 hits allowed in those same 17.2 innings.
