49ers Come Back To Win vs. Eagles
By David Ochoa
Today, the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles traveled to Levi’s Stadium to take on the slumping San Francisco 49ers. After a rocky start, the 49ers were able to come out and beat the Eagles by the score of 26-21.
After hearing all week how the 49ers were losing their touch, the 49ers were set on changing up that story line. However, early in the game it appeared to be proving all of their detractors right.
More from San Francisco 49ers
- 49ers sign new long snapper amidst a flurry of roster moves
- 49ers: George Kittle and Deebo Samuel cleared to return to practice
- 49ers expected to place DE Dee Ford on injured reserve
- 49ers sign TE Daniel Helm off the Buccaneers practice squad
- 49ers: Jordan Reed could miss up to two months, will be placed on IR
The 49ers allowed two special team touchdowns and one defensive touchdown, and at one point were down 21-10. The 49ers managed to kick a field goal before halftime and the score was 21-13 after the half.
While it might not have looked pretty, the 49ers clawed their way back into the game and with a great defensive effort from players like Perrish Cox, Antoine Bethea, and Aaron Lynch, the 49ers were able to take a 26-21 lead.
With the Eagles on the two yard line with a chance to go ahead once and for all, the 49ers bogged down and kept the Eagles from getting into the end zone.

Notes
After only getting six carries last week, Frank Gore carried the ball 24 times for 119 yards.
Colin Kaepernick continues to amaze with his athletic ability, but still shows sign of a young quarterback. He finished the game with 218 yards along with two touchdowns and one interception.
Stevie Johnson only had one catch today, but it was the most important one, as it kept the 49ers from having to settle for three points instead of seven.
Perrish Cox continues to impress, and it is seriously making a case for a starting role.
Aaron Lynch appears to be a steal. Lynch leapfrogged Corey Lemonier on the depth chart and should be the one to come in on nickel downs.
The entire defense deserves the game ball for this performance. They did not allow a single offensive point the entire game, and did not allow the Eagles to cross midfield until the fourth quarter. They also kept LeSean McCoy to only 17 yards on 10 rushes.
