San Francisco 49ers Release First Unofficial Depth Chart

The San Francisco 49ers have released their first depth chart, albeit an unofficial one, prior to Thursday’s first preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens.

There are few surprises as this is early in the preseason, but stay tuned in the coming weeks and things will definitely get interesting.

We can already see a few of the predicted training camp battles taking shape — such as the battle for center between Dan Kilgore and Marcus Martin — though again it’s too early to say much. Especially considering Martin got a late start due to camp due to being out sick. Still, he’s expected to push for the starting position.

Also, with Marcus Lattimore still on the injury list, Carlos Hyde is listed as the second RB on the depth chart. With that in mind I expect to see a heavy dose of him on Thursday, especially since the San Francisco 49ers probably don’t want to risk further injury at the running back position, and moreso with their starter, Frank Gore. I expect we’ll get a good look and Alfonso Smith and Jewel Hampton as well.

Lastly there are a few guys within injuries that are not expected to play. According to Matt Maiocco “at least four starters – Michael Crabtree, Anthony Davis, Ray McDonald and Justin Smith” are are expected to miss the game because of injury. With that being said, here is the unofficial depth chart.
