Does he get a tender? Probably

Jesse Chavez emerged at age 29 as a solid middle reliever for the A’s after bouncing around several organizations the past four years (Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Kansas City and Toronto). Chavez pitched his way onto the roster with five solid starts at Triple-A Sacramento and accepted a bullpen role in Oakland, where his job was to not let leads get away when a starter struggled or not let a deficit get out of hand if a starter really struggled. It’s a thankless, mostly anonymous gig, but Chavez did it well.
