With Thursday's trade deadline looming, the Golden State Warriors are seemingly aggressive in their attempts to upgrade the roster. In a surprising turn of events, the Warriors are reportedly looking to make a big swing for a star.

On Monday, NBA insider Jake Fischer reported that the Warriors called the Phoenix Suns about Kevin Durant's availability. This was later confirmed by other reporters. As of now, however, there is no indication that the Suns are looking to move on from KD as they are laser-focused on trying to acquire Jimmy Butler ahead of the deadline. If that falls through, however, Durant may very well be on the move.

However, Durant is not the only All-Star forward the Warriors are reportedly interested in.

NBA Rumors: Warriors Targeting Paul George at the Trade Deadline

The Philadelphia Inquirer's Keith Pompey reported that the Warriors are interested in trading for Paul George of the Philadelphia 76ers.

The nine-time All-Star is having a down season, dealing with injuries and averaging career lows across the board. The 34-year-old has played in 30 games and put up 17.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.7 assists on 42.9/36.5/82.3 shooting splits. George is not the dominant two-way force he once was but he is still a solid three-and-D option.

The biggest concern about a potential deal would be his contract. PG13 signed a four-year, $212 million deal with the Sixers in the offseason. His production has been far below that level but the Warriors will have to hope that he would re-discover his groove upon his return to his home state, California.

These reports are in stark contrast to what Steph Curry, Steve Kerr, and Draymond Green have said a few weeks ago. They were hinting at a quiet trade deadline, saying the Warriors shouldn't make a desperate move to jeopardize their future.

The tone has seemingly shifted in the organization and no one should be surprised if the Warriors are the next team to pull off a blockbuster trade before Thursday.
