This would be an utter disaster for the 49ers. The 41-year-old is nowhere near the player he used to be and comes with a ton of needless drama. The player that he is at this stage of his career is not worth the headache he will cause in the locker room and the organization.

Plus, Rodgers would only be a short-term rental. He likely only has one more year left before his retirement. The 49ers will have to find a long-term solution at quarterback after Rodgers and it is unlikely that player will be better than Purdy.

That is why it is of utmost importance that a deal for Purdy gets done soon. While it's confusing why the 49ers are considered such a frontrunner to land Rodgers, even the thought of the possibility is scary.
