The San Francisco 49ers haven't had the offseason they have hoped for. The 49ers have watched as multiple impact players leave town.
That list features Aaron Banks, Dre Greenlaw, Javon Hargrave, Talanoa Hufanga, Charvarius Ward, Isaac Yiadom, Rock Ya-Sin, and Elijah Mitchell.
They also traded away Deebo Samuel, and that has given fans a cause for concern. General manager John Lynch was at Stanford's Pro Day on Wednesday and talked about the team's offseason thus far. Lynch said it was "terrible" to see all these players leave in free agency, but he also gave fans some hope with the NFL Draft right around the corner. Lynch reveals the team has a plan for the roster.

John Lynch Says 49ers Have Plan for Roster After Offseason Purge
Lynch said, "We’ve got this thing called the draft, and we’ve got a lot of picks. And I think the thing the fans should know is we have a plan. And we’re gonna execute that plan. And we’re excited about the opportunity."
The 49ers have a total of 11 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, including eight in the first five rounds. That is a lot of ammo for a San Francisco team that needs to re-tool this roster.
With team holes at G, T, DL, and CB, the 49ers will be looking to add some difference-makers in April and Lynch seems to be confident in the team's ability to do.
Under Lynch, the 49ers have been able to draft some quality players. Over the last eight drafts, the 49ers have drafted guys like Fred Warner, George Kittle, and Brock Purdy on Days 2 and 3 of the draft. Meanwhile, studs like Nick Bosa and Deebo Samuel bolstered the roster in the first two rounds.
Lynch has shown the ability to scout talent and he's ready to do it again in April. Even though the 49ers have lost many contributors, they don't seem to be worried about the outlook of the roster. The NFL Draft is going to be huge for the 49ers and it starts with the 11th overall pick.
