San Francisco 49ers fans woke up this morning to the news that the Miami Dolphins had finally found a trade partner for veteran defensive back Jalen Ramsey.

As much of a surprise it was to see the All-Pro shipped off to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Niners fans could never have expected to see a former starter on the offense in San Francisco take to social media and publicly drag the Dolphins, which just happened to be his most recent team.

It is rare to see a former player, let alone one who was on the roster last season, go out of their way to burn whatever bridges remained between themselves and the franchise by suggesting it is a destination star players should avoid at all costs. That is exactly what the former Niners running back did on Monday, though.

Former 49ers RB Raheem Mostert Trashes Miami After Blockbuster Trade

Raheem Mostert made a name for himself during his tenure in San Francisco as the veteran running back bounced around the league before finding a home with the 49ers. His best season with the franchise came in 2019 when he racked up 952 total yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns.

Mostert remained in San Francisco through the 2021 season before returning to Miami to rejoin the Dolphins. He enjoyed much success in South Beach, but his role was significantly decreased during the 2024 campaign, which led to him joining the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason.

Now, Mostert is firing off some hot takes concerning Miami's franchise and the way it treats its players. As you can see from the tweet above, Mostert left no doubt about how he thinks the Dolphins operate when reacting to the news that Jalen Ramsey had been traded to Pittsburgh.

Fortunately, opinions like Mostert's aren't being shared about the Niners and how they conduct business in San Francisco. Players listen to their peers, especially those who are actively discussing franchises they were most recently part of. Facing those kinds of hurdles when attempting to attract top talent only makes the front office's job more difficult, and John Lynch doesn't want that on his plate.
