All 32 teams in the league are on summer break before things get serious in July when training camp starts.
This is the last calm portion of the year, as things will hit full blast when players begin reporting to facilities. Although news is currently slow around the league, a former 49ers lineman officially retired from the league.
Offensive linemen Jesse Davis announced his retirement from the NFL after a 10-year career. In his post on Instagram, Davis wrote, "After 10 years, I'm officially retiring from the NFL. Thank you to all my coaches, teammates, fans and most importantly, my family. Without you guys, I wouldn't have made it this far. Thank you to all the organizations that gave me the opportunity to play the game I love. I've had an incredible ride that I'll never forget. Now it's time to be a full-time Dad and figure out my next chapter."

Jesse Davis Retires From NFL
Davis was an undrafted free agent and latched onto the Miami Dolphins in 2017. He spent five seasons with the Dolphins, appearing in 80 games (72 starts). Davis started at right guard, right tackle, and left tackle.
He then joined the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022 before joining the 49ers' practice squad in 2023. Davis ended up getting elevated to the active roster for one game.
The 33-year-old had a brief one-month stint with the New Orleans Saints last summer from July to August. He wasn't able to make the roster and ended up not playing in the 2024 season.
Davis' last NFL game was with the 49ers and is likely something that he will cherish. Even though he only played in five special-teams snaps in a Thursday Night Football game against the Seattle Seahawks, that was a special moment.
Davis had a short tenure with the 49ers, but fans should wish him the best as he heads into the next chapter of his life.
