4. De'Vondre Campbell, LB
This one's not officially official, but why not take some time to bid good riddance to De'Vondre Campbell?
49ers fans won't need much of a recap of how the end of the season played out. The 49ers were 6-7 and fighting to remain in playoff contention against the NFC West rival Los Angeles Rams. Then Campbell completely abandoned the team when they needed him. Asked to enter the game because of injuries again, Campbell threw a tantrum and went to the locker room.
That got him suspended by the 49ers, and it left no questions about his future. There's simply no coming back from something like that. This isn't the first team Campbell will be leaving on bad terms with, and the stunt could very well prove to be career ending. How many teams want someone in their locker room who can pull something like that?
It's not like Campbell will be overly missed on the field either. He did slot in decently as an every-down player for 13 games, and he finished third on the team with 79 tackles. But a lot of those were simply the kind of tackles you'd expect a linebacker to make, not that they were coming from any especially great play.
His 58.3 PFF grade checked in at just 125th among 189 qualifying linebackers, and that marks the third consecutive season that he's seen his grade fall. A 32-year-old linebacker who is past his prime and a total liability in the locker room is someone Niners fans will be happy to see leave when he officially becomes a free agent in March.
