The San Francisco 49ers kicked off their offseason program on Tuesday as the team got together for the first time. Among the veterans who showed up for the voluntary activities was star running back Christian McCaffrey.
McCaffrey, who missed all but four games last season due to injuries, spoke to reporters about the latest on his status. According to ESPN's Nick Wagoner, the 28-year-old rusher has no restrictions and will be a full participant in the 49ers offseason program.

49ers Fans Will Love the Latest Christian McCaffrey Update
This is an exciting development for 49ers fans, as McCaffrey's absence last season was one of the biggest reasons why the offense took a giant step back.
The former NFL Offensive Player of the Year suffered a calf and Achilles injury during training camp last year, forcing him to miss the first nine weeks of the season. He was eventually activated after the 49ers' bye week and made his return in November against the Buccaneers.
Just as he was playing himself into shape, McCaffrey suffered a posterior cruciate ligament injury in his fourth game back, ending his season prematurely.
In his remarks, McCaffrey added that he has already been training at full speed and that his knee is already feeling normal.
The star playmaker remains one of the most important players for the 49ers next season. In his last fully healthy season, McCaffrey was arguably the best player in the league, going over 2,000 total yards from scrimmage and scoring 21 touchdowns.
49ers fans are hoping that the 2024 campaign will be a blip in McCaffrey's Hall of Fame career, and he will go back to being the dominant force he has been since he was acquired via a trade at the 2022 trade deadline.
