The San Francisco 49ers have had an amusing offseason story emerge with Deommodore Lenoir taking the time to roast a division rival. Seattle Seahawks receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the target of Lenoir's social media posts, with this not being the first time the corner has taken aim at the Seattle receiver. When rumors of a DK Metcalf trade began to emerge, the corner made it clear that a change shouldn't happen. While it improves the chances of San Francisco, it was a lost challenge that Lenoir clearly had immense respect for.
Metcalf's departure from the division wasn't met with the expected celebration but with a level of sadness from Lenoir. It was clear that the respect was there, while in the same breath, the 49er took the time to call out Smith-Njigba as someone who consistently cries to the refs. It was the start of a consistent offseason of shade with Lenoir appearing to enjoy every minute of it.

Lenoir made it clear in his previous comments that there wasn't the respect for the younger Seattle receiver compared to the veterans who were in front of him. The Seahawks' opting to move away from established receivers and quarterback Geno Smith only emboldened further beef between the two sides, with Lenoir continuing to play into every bit of the back-and-forth.
For the 49ers, there really isn't any harm here with the Seahawks taking a huge step back in the 2025 offseason. If Lenoir was pushing the Los Angeles Rams or another top contender in the NFC, the feeling might be a bit different. However, this is a harmless offseason beef between two players that hasn't crossed any obvious lines. As long as it stays within these bounds, it isn't a concern for the franchise.
Seattle making the move to get rid of two starting receivers and put the pressure completely on Smith-Njigba is a choice that is going to answer exactly where the receiver stands in this league. The production benefit that Metcalf provided is gone, giving the young receiver his first real chance at proving he can be a number one option without elite talent around him. Something Lenoir obviously doubts as the corner continues to create chaos that promises the team's first regular season matchup is a must-watch in what will be a chance to settle the beef in a far more fitting fashion.
