The schedule for the 2025 NFL season was released on Wednesday and the San Francisco 49ers are slated for five primetime games. Their schedule includes one Thursday night game, two Sunday night games and two Monday night games. San Francisco's first Sunday night game in 2025 is their Week 7 clash against the Atlanta Falcons.

This game has already caught the eye of 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir. On Wednesday morning, Lenoir took to social media to call out a former Falcons teammate. In the comment section on an Instagram post, Lenoir tagged Ray Ray McCloud, writing, " No catches allowed." Lenoir calling out McCloud before the 2025 season even starts is risky, but it may also be a very calculated move.

Deommodore Lenoir Calls Out Former Teammate Ray Ray McCloud After Learning They'll Face Off in 2025

During the 2022 offseason, the 49ers signed McCloud to a two-year contract. Throughout his time in San Francisco, McCloud contributed on special teams and as a receiver. At receiver, he recorded 26 receptions on 40 targets for 378 yards and one touchdown. As a returner, McCloud averaged 9.8 yards per return on punts and 22.9 yards per return on kickoffs.

That said, the 28-year-old is coming off the best season of his career in Atlanta. In 2024, McCloud recorded 62 receptions on 87 targets for 686 yards and one touchdown. His output last season proved that he is a solid option in the slot.

espite that, facing a former teammate in Lenoir will be a challenge for multiple reasons. For starters, Lenoir likely went up against McCloud in practice when he was a 49er. This means that he has a deeper understanding of how McCloud plays the games; however, that goes both ways.

Moreover, Lenoir has been a pretty solid coverage over the past two seasons. Last season, he allowed a 62.1% completion percentage against. While that may seem slightly high, his PFF grade of 71.7 in coverage paints a different picture.

Given McCloud is coming off his best season and Lenoir has been playing at a high level, this matchup is going to be fun to watch.
