The San Francisco 49ers front office got to work this offseason and made sure they locked up their key players to long-term contracts to keep them in the Bay Area for years to come.

With Brock Purdy, George Kittle, and Fred Warner among the veterans to re-up with San Francisco this offseason, there is no doubt that they are among the cornerstones of the franchise moving forward. Those new deals were celebrated by Niners fans around the country. However, one member of that trio already has his eye on a career change once he hangs up his cleats for good.

49ers' George Kittle Making Post-NFL Plans Despite New Contract

George Kittle agreed to a four-year, $76.4 million extension with San Francisco in April of this year that will keep him under contract with the 49ers through the 2029 season. The five-time All-Pro certainly earned the new deal as his play during the 2024 campaign was one of the most impressive of his eight-year career.

After racking up 1,106 receiving yards and eight touchdowns on 78 receptions, Kittle is still at the top of his game. This is why it is interesting to hear him address what his plans for life after football could be. During a recent interview with the "Bussin' With The Boys" podcast, Kittle made it known that he would love to go from being a superstar in the NFL to a superstar in a different industry altogether.

"I would love to do WWE," Kittle said, via Tristi Rodriguez of NBC Sports Bay Area. "I think there's definitely opportunity within that world, and I would love nothing more than to be a part of it.

"My only question mark with that is I so much love being a fan of WWE. I would only do WWE if I bought a ring and practiced my a-- off for a long time so I wouldn't look like an idiot out there. I've been in a WWE ring like three times. I don't know what I'm doing out there. I have an understanding of how it works, but I haven't moonsaulted off the top rope at WrestleMania like Pat McAfee did."

For those who may not pay as much attention to the WWE as Kittle does, he has been a fixture ringside at several events over the years and, as he noted, has found himself in the ring before. The Niners star would not be the first former NFL player to make the jump to the professional wrestling world if he ultimately does move in that direction whenever he calls it quits.

Fortunately, Niners fans can take solace in the fact that Kittle plans to continue playing football until it isn't fun for him anymore. So, fans should not expect to see him trade in his cleats for some wrestling boots anytime soon.
