The 2025 NFL Draft is just two weeks away and the San Francisco 49ers are doing their last-minute research on prospects in this draft class.

With the Scouting Combine in the rearview mirror and pro days taking place around the nation, teams are getting the final look in person with these players.

Matt Barrows of The Athletic reported that the 49ers' local pro day list includes Stanford WR Elic Ayomanor, San Jose State WR Nick Nash, Cal LB Teddye Buchanan, and Cal S Craig Woodson. At the same time, the 49ers don't have Cal CB Nohl Williams on the list, despite leading the FBS with seven interceptions in 2024.

49ers Don’t Invite Nohl Williams to Local Pro Day

That is an interesting decision considering the 49ers have a need at cornerback. Charvarius Ward, Isaac Yiadom, and Rock Ya-Sin all left in free agency, creating an area of weakness in the secondary.

The Athletic's Dane Brugler released his 2025 Draft guide and he had Williams as his eighth-ranked corner, giving him 2nd-3rd round grade. In Brugler's write-up on Williams, he stated, "His outstanding ball skills are reflected in his 2024 production: seven interceptions (No. 1 in the FBS) and 16 passes defended (No. 1 in the ACC). In coverage, Williams is a smooth mover in both man and zone and displays a natural feel for keeping eyes on the backfield action without sacrificing his coverage."

Williams is super competitive with strong hands to get his paws on receivers. In his collegiate career, the California native had 203 total tackles, 25 pass deflections, and 14 interceptions.

The 49ers own pick 43 in the second round and pick 75 in the third round. That would put them in the ballpark to potentially draft Williams if they wanted but the decision not to bring him to the local pro day is interesting.

Considering he's one of the best players in the area, it doesn't make sense why the 49ers didn't bring him into workout. San Francisco may end up watching him get drafted elsewhere and become a solid player in the league, and that would be a tough pill to swallow for a team that needs a boost in the secondary.
