The San Francisco 49ers have experienced a long list of changes this offseason that will impact the 2025 roster.

Countless players have left during free agency while also trading away WR Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders. That move will significantly impact the 49ers WR core. Brandon Aiyuk suffered a major knee injury last season and is rehabbing his way back onto the field. There is no timetable for his return, leaving Ricky Pearsall, Jauan Jennings, and Demarcus Robinson as the trio for this team heading into the NFL Draft.

While they could bolster the WR room in the NFL Draft, there is a veteran option on the market that would end the month of March on a high note. Amari Cooper is still available and the 49ers should look into signing him.

Amari Cooper is the Perfect WR Target for the 49ers in Free Agency

Cooper is known for being a crafty route runner with reliable hands. Although he may no longer be the same receiver he was in his prime, Cooper would still boost a 49ers wide receiver room that needs another veteran as Aiyuk gets back up to speed.

Across his 10-year career, Cooper has compiled 733 receptions for 10,033 receiving yards and 64 touchdowns. He has seven seasons under his belt with more than 1,000 receiving yards with the most recent one coming in 2023 with the Cleveland Browns.

While Cooper won't come in and become a top-five player in his position, he will still give the 49ers a capable playmaker that Brock Purdy could rely on.

Last offseason, Cleveland and San Francisco almost agreed on a deal revolving around Aiyuk and Cooper. Things fell through cause Aiyuk didn't want to land with the Browns, so nothing materialized.

The interest in his talent is clearly there in San Franciso, and now they have the chance to bring him on board for the 2025 season.
