3. Can Jimmy Garoppolo do better for the 49ers in 2020?

Listen, this isn’t a knock on 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo’s 2019 season. In his first full year as a starter, he threw for 27 touchdowns, 3,978 yards passing, and finished with a completion percentage of 69.1 and lead his team to the Super Bowl.

However, he threw for 13 interceptions and was sacked 36 times. Yes, these stats can be blamed throughout the offense like receivers needing to hang on to the ball and the offensive line needs to hold their line better.

But, Garoppolo is the leader and needs to get the ball off quicker if he feels he can’t make a play.

The other thing many 49ers fans would like to see from their chiseled jaw captain is an improvement as a runner.

Understandably, Garoppolo might’ve been nervous coming off a serious ACL injury in 2018. He’s coming into 2020 with no brace and hopefully a new mindset to help him become a bigger threat.

Jimmy G was great in 2019. Now he needs to prove it wasn’t a fluke and he can lead the 49ers to the promised land once again.
