San Francisco 49ers players are happy that George Kittle has received a new contract.

The San Francisco 49ers and star tight end George Kittle have reached an agreement on a five-year extension that’s reportedly worth a whopping $75 million.

The contract will be one that rests the tight end market with Kittle making more than any tight end in NFL history. Not only that, but his average annual value will be around $5 million more per season than any other tight end in the league was making prior to his extension.

Needless to say, this is a record-shattering contract. And while both Kittle and the 49ers will undoubtedly be excited about this development, they certainly aren’t the only ones.

Many of Kittle’s teammates took to Twitter on Thursday to express their excitement about their fellow 49er’s new contract. From Richard Sherman to Kyle Juszczyk, Kittle certainly had his fair share of supporters.

Plenty of George Kittle’s San Francisco 49ers teammates expressed their support.

Sherman was one of the first to respond to the news referring to Kittle as the “best in the business” in the process. And after what he just got paid, it’s hard to argue that notion.

The George Kittle/Travis Kelce debate continues to go on, but after both superstar tight ends received their extensions, it seems as though the NFL has answered the age-old question.

Kittle is making more and therefore he is better. Or at least, that’s the argument we’re going with.

Sherman was far from the only teammate of Kittle’s to congratulate him as the aforementioned Juszczyk did as well.

Juszczyk exclaimed, “That’s BIG money” which is pretty safe to say is accurate. Kittle will reportedly receive more than half of his contract guaranteed completely shattering any notions about the tight end market.

He isn’t making tight end money. He’s making No. 1 wide receiver money.

Linebacker Kwon Alexander also took to Twitter to express a similar sentiment to the one shared by Juszczyk.

Meanwhile, the likes of Dre Greenlaw and Solomon Thomas insisted that Kittle was certainly deserving of such a contract. Greenlaw, in particular, declared that there was “no one like him.”

Thomas and Kittle entered the league together as part of the 49ers’ 2017 NFL Draft class. And while their careers have taken completely different paths to this point, they’ve gone through the entire NFL experience together.

Who knows how much longer the two will be teammates, but Thomas made sure to give his friend a shoutout.

George Kittle finally got his long-overdue payday. And both the 49ers and his teammates are stoked about it.
