Deebo Samuel isn’t afraid of playing Jamal Adams twice a year

Deebo Samuel took to Twitter to declare that he isn’t afraid to play Jamal Adams twice a year.
The news of Jamal Adams being traded has shaken the NFL to its core and plenty have offered their takes on the matter. One of those people was San Francisco 49ers‘ wide receiver Deebo Samuel.
Samuel will, of course, be forced to play against Adams twice a year now that the latter plays for the 49ers’ NFC West rivals, the Seattle Seahawks. But in typical Deebo fashion, he isn’t willing to back down from a challenge.
The 24-year-old took to Twitter on Saturday soon after the announcement that Adams was traded to share his thoughts on the blockbuster deal.
Despite the fact that Adams is arguably the best safety in the NFL, the thought of playing against him twice a year evidently doesn’t scare Samuel.
For those who are familiar with Deebo Samuel’s persona, this is right on brand — and 49ers fans have to love it.
Samuel emerged as one of the best young wideouts in the game after hauling in 57 catches for 802 yards and three touchdowns in his rookie season. The South Carolina product was a perfect fit for Kyle Shanahan’s motion-based offense as he thrived with the ball in his hands in open space.
Now going into 2020, Samuel will be tasked with being the team’s unquestioned No. 1 receiver. Given his confidence and attitude, he appears more than up for the task.
Deebo Samuel actually attempted to help the 49ers land Jamal Adams not too long ago.
In an interesting twist, Samuel was part of a select few 49ers players who attempted to recruit Adams to join the team over the past few months.
Samuel posted the following image to his Instagram account showing Adams wearing the 49ers’ iconic red and gold not too long ago.
Obviously, the 49ers never went all-in on Adams, and given what the Seahawks had to give up, that’s likely for the best. Besides, the 49ers need to conserve their money for major extensions to players like George Kittle and Fred Warner in the near future.
The price simply would not have been worth it for Adams.
Nonetheless, the 49ers will now have the displeasure of playing against Adams twice a year. However, for one Deebo Samuel, he isn’t going to back down from any fight.
