The San Jose Sharks disappointed in 2019-20, but there are still a few positive takeaways.

The San Jose Sharks finished the season with a less-than-impressive 63 points before the season cut short prematurely. Between the season finish and not having a top-five pick in the upcoming draft, it can be hard for fans to feel optimistic moving forward.

After 14 postseason appearances in 15 seasons, the team and its fans have been privileged with a lot of success. That makes missing a 24-team tournament all the more terrible — a circumstance that no one could have seen coming last summer.

Instead of heading to Edmonton, Logan Couture and company will be watching hockey at home in California.

With that in mind, many key moments that have gone unnoticed by fans elicit optimism moving forward. It could be the fuel to catapult Team Teal into the postseason as soon as next year.

Here are three positive takeaways from last season that Sharks fans should appreciate.
