2015 – Timo Time

Total games played for the Sharks: 263 games
Player with the greatest impact for the Sharks: Timo Meier (263 games)

The 2015 NHL Entry Draft saw the Sharks make nine selections, the most of the decade. However, once again they missed on almost every single pick – except ninth-overall pick right wing Timo Meier.

So far, Meier has suited up for 263 games for San Jose and scored 157 points (76 goals, 81 assists). If it weren’t for the pick of Meier, this draft would arguably be the worst of the Sharks during the 2010s.

2014 – Late-round gem

Total games played for the Sharks: 308 games
Player with the greatest impact for the Sharks: Kevin Labanc (284 games)

For the second time during the 2010s, the Sharks had eight draft picks. However, unlike last time, they didn’t completely blow it. The Sharks saw three of their selections from this year play for them at some points.

Most notable of these three players is sixth-round pick (171st overall) right wing Kevin Labanc. So far, Labanc has played in 284 games for San Jose and posted 149 points (50 goals, 99 assists).

The other two players are 27th-overall pick right wing Nikolay Goldobin (11 games) and fifth-round, 149th-overall pick center Rourke Chartier (13 games).
