Brandon Davidson, Defenseman

Brandon Davidson was acquired by the Sharks on February 24th, 2020 in a trade with the Calgary Flames in exchange for future considerations.

Davidson is primarily a third-pairing/seventh defenseman at this point in his career. He spent the majority of this season playing for the AHL affiliate of the Flames. He played just seven games for the Flames this season, averaging just 12:16 of time on ice.

With the Sharks, he played just five games, recording no points, a plus/minus of -1, and an average of 12:46 of time on ice.

To go along with that, Davidson recorded five blocked shots and 14 hits. Davidson is a very boring player, he doesn’t create many goals and he doesn’t fight or take penalties.

He’s a decent depth defenseman to have at 28-years-old, but with the Sharks going through a rebuild, I would rather have them fill up their AHL roster with younger talent.

Davidson isn’t at the age or have the amount of experience yet where you want him as a mentor for young talent, he’s just depth.

Decision: Decline
