Warriors: Stephen Curry’s top 5 most memorable moments
By Jack Cote
3. Steph and the Warriors make history
The next two moments aren’t one specific moment, but rather, an entire game or season where Curry proved he was the best in the world. Coming at No. 3 on Stephen Curry’s top five moments list was a full season leading up to one moment.
Three-pointer after three-pointer, win after win.
With one game remaining in the Warriors 2015-2016 regular season, the team found themselves one win away from breaking the all-time regular-season win record held by the 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls, winning 72 games.
The Warriors were 72-9 heading into their final game with a home matchup against a testy Memphis Grizzlies ball club.
Not only was this significant for the Warriors, but for Curry, who was playing for a chance to make his 400th three-point shot of the season, shattering his season record set in the previous season of 286.
In this final regular-season game, Curry erupted with 46 points, 10 three-pointers, which put him at 402 three-point makes on the season. No one had ever made it into the 300’s for three-point makes in a season, and Curry just decided to skip that milestone and go to the 400’s.
This record was made 10 times better in moments to remember from Curry’s career when he led the team to a 125-104 victory, becoming the winningest team in a single season.
