By Dalton Sell
The Golden State Warriors went through a major roster revamping this season, and a few players had surprising breakout seasons despite the team’s struggles.
After a five year stretch of dominance that brought three championships to the Bay Area, the Golden State Warriors found themselves in unfamiliar territory as this season progressed forward.
Injuries have plagued this team all season long, putting the team at the bottom of the Western Conference.
With Klay Thompson set to likely to miss the entire year rehabbing an ACL and Stephen Curry only playing in four games before breaking his left hand, things began spiraling out of control quickly.
Heading into a league-wide hiatus due to COVID-19, the Warriors have the worst record throughout the league with a vile 15-49 record.
Still, despite the chaos, several players on this team were making a name for themselves throughout the year. These injuries to their star backcourt opened the door for an opportunity to see what kind of potential the rest of their roster has, and the team has found a few hidden gems.
Although the future of the league is unknown at the moment, various players have made a case to be on this roster for the long run when play does eventually resume.
The future appears bright for the Warriors, no matter how this season has gone to this point. With this season becoming an evaluation of talent, here are three players who were having a breakout season before the hiatus halted their progression.
