Raiders: Letter grades for every 2020 free agent signing so far

An uncertain QB room
Despite rumors of landing a big fish like Tom Brady or Jameis Winston, the team was relatively quiet on the quarterback front. They did manage to sign Marcus Mariota in a fairly unexciting move.
The former Oregon Ducks star and No. 2 overall pick is expected to compete with Nathan Peterman for the backup role behind Derek Carr. If he impresses in camp, he could even challenge for the starting spot.
However, the team felt due for a splash at quarterback as they transition from Oakland to Las Vegas. While there is a chance that the team looks add a game-changer in the draft, it seems as though there are still major questions surrounding the QB position.

Other important signings:
Jason Witten will be a solid veteran leader who will have particular value as a mentor to Darren Waller. But don’t write Witten off as a glorified coach.
He caught 63 passes for 529 yards and four touchdowns in 2019. He will always find a way to get open on his trademark button-hook route.

The Jeff Heath signing gives Vegas a trio of solid, but oft-injured safeties (alongside Erik Harris and Johnathan Abram). If he is healthy, he will compete for a starting spot.
His health his heath is a major question mark. But the value is tremendous on a two-year, $8 million contract.
