1. Jeff Samardzija, SP

When to Target: Picks 251-261

Jeff Samardzija has the best chance to finish the season as the Most Valuable Player on the Giants’ roster. In fact, he could easily be the best fantasy pitcher in the entire Bay Area.

While the 35-year-old seems to be comfortably removed from his days as an All-Star, he is still capable of producing at a solid level.

‘The Shark’ finished 2019 with over 181 innings pitched and a respectable 3.52 ERA and 140 strikeouts. His 11-12 record was also impressive, especially considering the fact that his team finished 29 games behind the division-leading Dodgers.

Samardzija was able to find a way to be productive despite playing on a team with minimal overall talent. If he is able to record similar numbers in 2020 (as projected), he will be a productive member of your fantasy roster.

Filling up a standard league means each manager will have to add somewhere in the ballpark of 10 pitchers to their team. Why not join me in taking a flyer on Samardzija in the late rounds?

Note: Samardzija is ranked 279th overall by ESPN’s analysts. He is ranked 292nd on MLB.com.
