Like his fellow star infielders, Marcus Semien enjoyed the best year of his career in 2019. His 33 homers, 92 RBI and .285 average shattered his previous best for a single season.
As a result, he was not only named as an All-MLB Second Team, but he finished third overall in AL MVP voting.
There are some legitimate concerns that Semien may be unable to repeat his 2019 success. However, he should still be seriously considered as a top option as a fantasy shortstop.
His current ranking of 73th on ESPN and 85th on MLB.com. This gives him good value for the 2020 season. Grab him as early as the mid-sixth round in your (ten-team) draft.
