Golden State Warriors: All-Decade Team for the 2010’s
The Golden State Warriors dynasty was one of the top sports stories of the 2010s. See how it shapes the franchise’s All-Decade Team.
When it comes to Bay Area excellence in the 2010s, it’s impossible not to mention the Golden State Warriors.
The team came from humble beginnings at the turn of the decade — rolling out a squad at the crossroads of Stephen Curry and Monta Ellis, led by Keith Smart long before the days of Steve Kerr.
Things, of course, quickly came together for Golden State. Excellent drafting, fortunate circumstance, and execution during free agency allowed the team to elevate their game year after year.
This decade might be the most impressive decade in modern basketball, altogether.
Five Conference titles. Three championships. A 73-win season.
The Golden State Warriors thoroughly dominated the decade. They transformed from the lovable losers to the villains of the league in the blink of an eye.
Though the 2019-2020 season appears to be the antithesis of the last six seasons or so, the league is still aware of what the Warriors Dynasty has been and can continue to be capable of. They’ve made their mark.
They’ve embraced “ruining” the game.
Identifying the All-Decade Team for the Golden State Warriors isn’t an especially difficult task. There’s a good chance that almost all of the names mentioned on this list will be enshrined in Golden State Warriors’ history once they retire.
But the ease in their selection should not detract from what they’ve been able to accomplish.
