He ranks in the top-10 in team history in nearly every major statistical category. He is also Sacramento’s all-time leader in rebounding percentage and usage rate.
While a tragic stretch of recent injuries have affected the his career outlook, basketball fans will always remember the former Kentucky Wildcat’s total dominance during his time with the Kings.
Cousins joined the Kings as the fifth overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft and immediately made his presence felt. He was recognized as an NBA All-Rookie Second Team section after his first season while displaying signs of his future dominance.
In his seven seasons in Sacramento, Cousins averaged 21.1 points, 10.8 rebounds, 1.2 blocks, 1.4 steals, and 3.0 assists per game. He also managed to evolve his game to fit into the modern NBA’s emphasis on shooting and spacing.
After being a post scorer his entire career, Cousins unveiled an effective three-point shot during the 2015-2016 season. Incredibly, he is now a career 33 percent shooter from beyond the three-point arc.
