The Oakland Raiders are going to have some difficult decisions to make in the offseason. Here are three players who could be cap casualties in the coming months.

The Oakland Raiders have exceeded most people’s expectations with what has been a very successful 2019 campaign. While many expected slight improvement, the Raiders have managed to play meaningful football into December for the first time in a few years.

Yes, it would have been a storybook ending for the Raiders to have shockingly made the postseason in their final season in Oakland, but that’s a pipe dream at this point.

For all intents and purposes, the season is over. The fans in Oakland deserve better but at this point, the focus is as much on the offseason as it is saying goodbye to the Bay Area.

The Raiders front office will have to make various important decisions this offseason. While many revolve around re-signings, draft targets, and free-agent acquisitions, an underlooked part of the offseason comes with managing those already under contract.

With a little over $70 million in cap space going into the offseason, the Raiders could look to create more by releasing a few veterans still under contract. Some of those players might be well-established starters or fan favorites.

But unfortunately, football is a business at the end of the day and the Raiders must think with their wallets and not their hearts.

With that, let’s take a look at three Raiders players who could be cap casualties this offseason.
