The San Jose Sharks have managed to completely turn around their fortunes this season and now sit above .500 for the first time. What has led to their incredible recent success?
The San Jose Sharks have looked like a completely different team over the past three or so weeks catapulting themselves from a 4-10-1 record on November 2nd to a 12-11-1 record at the time of writing.
And after the team’s 2-1 overtime victory over the hottest team in the NHL, the New York Islanders, on Sunday, the Sharks are now above .500 for the first time this season.
After residing in the Pacific Division’s basement for the majority of the season, San Jose is now in sole possession of fifth in the division as the team continues to climb back up the standings.
The Sharks have revived their season and there are few teams in the NHL right now as hot as they are. They’ve won eight of their last nine with that only loss coming to the Edmonton Oilers who currently hold the second-best record in the league.
Yet, the Sharks still defeated the Oilers during this winning streak in a 6-3 win back on November 12th. The Sharks have once again proved that they are a team to watch this season and that their four-year postseason streak isn’t in serious jeopardy just yet.
