49ers: 5 players who could make the Pro Bowl this season
By Justin Fried
1. George Kittle, TE
There has been a noticeable trend with the members of this list so far. To this point, all four players have been members of the 49ers defense which is to be expected.
But there is one obvious offensive player who should soon be making the trip to Hawaii for his second career Pro Bowl appearance and that’s All-Pro tight end George Kittle.

Kittle has missed the last two games dealing with a pair of injuries to his leg, but that hasn’t stopped him from putting together a Pro Bowl-worthy season. In just eight games, Kittle has hauled in 46 grabs for 541 yards and two touchdowns.
And despite missing those two games, both figures are still good for third in the NFC behind Atlanta’s Austin Hooper and Philadelphia’s Zach Ertz. With Hooper set to miss some time with an MCL sprain, Kittle’s spot is all but guaranteed.
Kittle remains the 49ers’ most potent offensive weapon and on a unit full of unheralded playmakers, he is the lone unquestioned superstar. His absence has sincerely been missed both in the passing game and on the ground.
The 49ers have struggled to find much success with their rushing attack in recent weeks and much of that is due to Kittle’s absence. Apart from his prosperity as a pass-catcher, Kittle remains one of the best blocking tight ends in the league.
He’s the complete package and he should be rewarded for his success with a much-deserved Pro Bowl nod this season.
