49ers: 5 players who could make the Pro Bowl this season
By Justin Fried
2. Nick Bosa, DE
49ers rookie Nick Bosa is set to earn some serious hardware this winter in the form of some NFL awards and honors that will likely be coming his way.
The No. 2 overall draft pick remains an odds-on favorite for Defensive Rookie of the Year and he could even make a push for an All-Pro team if he keeps it up. But don’t forget about the Pro Bowl nod he’s likely to receive at this point either.
Bosa has more than lived up to the preseason hype as through 10 games, the Ohio State product has tallied seven sacks which ranks second among all rookies behind Jacksonville’s Josh Allen.
On top of that, Bosa continues to be a force as a run defender totaling eight tackles including one for a loss in the team’s Week 10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Bosa has 13 tackles for loss on the season a whopping seven in Weeks 7 and 8 combined.
The 22-year-old has the obvious draft pedigree, a history of family success, and some serious media attention all to help his case. But even so, he doesn’t exactly need any extra help.
Bosa’s play alone should be enough to earn him a Pro Bowl nod in his first NFL season unless something drastic changes.
Barring injury, Bosa should be able to secure a Pro Bowl bid with a few more sacks over the final stretch of the season.
