1. 87.5% — Total percentage of the roster injured since training camp

Yes, you read that correctly. There is no number that does the Warriors injury issues as much justice as the one above.

87.5 percent.

That’s the percentage of the Warriors roster that has suffered some sort of injury since training camp began. 14 of the 16 players on the roster — including Thompson and the two-way players — have sustained some ailment over the past couple of months.

The only two players — at least by our account — to remain fully healthy during that time have been Ky Bowman and Glenn Robinson III. And even reciting their names like that feels like a jinx.

Please allow us to recount every injury this season.

More from Golden Gate Sports

Thompson has his torn ACL, Curry broke his hand, Green sprained his finger, Looney had a hamstring injury followed by a nerve issue, Russell sprained his ankle then his thumb, Willie Cauley-Stein had a foot ailment, Evans has an adductor injury, Smailagic sprained his ankle, Jordan Poole, Alec Burks, and Omari Spellman had ankle injuries, Marquese Chriss hurt his toe, Damion Lee broke his hand, and Eric Paschall injured his hip.

That’s a lot of injuries.

And if we’re being fair, even Bowman missed a practice during training camp for an undisclosed reason that was never released. Perhaps it was an injury, perhaps it wasn’t.

Every team battles its fair share of injuries throughout a season, but when nearly 90% of your roster is dealing with some sort of ailment, it’s going to be difficult to find success.

When put that way, it’s very easy to understand why the Warriors are currently 2-12 at the time of writing. They just aren’t healthy and continue to field lineups of unproven, lackluster talent.

And even that talent is injured too.

The Warriors streak of injury misfortune is unlike anything in modern NBA history. And Bowman and Robinson better be counting their blessings that it hasn’t hit them yet.
