Golden State Warriors: 3 players who could be traded before 2020
By Justin Fried
2. Alec Burks
Another cheap offseason addition, Alec Burks has done a solid job so far of providing a veteran presence on the wing.
The oft-injured veteran was one of a collection of Warriors fighting for the starting small forward job in the preseason but a training camp injury prevented him from securing the job, at least initially.
That said, his return has been a welcome addition for the Warriors with his best performance coming in the team’s 129-112 loss to the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night when he dropped a team-leading 28 points in defeat.

Burks has always been a reliable defender who can shoot pretty well from long range. The biggest issue has just been durability as he’s missed more than his fair share of games over his career.
But if he could stay healthy, there’s likely a few teams who could be interested in a veteran three-and-D wing like himself.
The Warriors could look to deal him once the December 15th deadline passes if they’re already out of postseason contention by then. They will likely be more willing to develop young players like Eric Paschall or even Jordan Poole on the wing rather than play a veteran like Burks.
Veterans on losing teams are often expendable and Burks may be a victim of “the tank” before 2019 officially concludes.
