The San Francisco Giants’ search for a new manager has been narrowed down to three candidates. Let’s take an in-depth look at each of the final options.

The San Francisco Giants have a hole left vacant at their managerial position following the retirement of longtime coaching legend Bruce Bochy. And if reports are to be believed, the team is down to their final three candidates for the job.

NBC Sports’ Alex Pavlovic reports that have narrowed their managerial search to three targets — Houston Astros bench coach Joe Espada, former Philadelphia Phillies manager Gabe Kapler, and Kansas City Royals quality control and catching coach Pedro Grifol.

This comes as a bit of a surprise given the fact that many presumed that Oakland Athletics quality control coach Mark Kotsay was the favorite for the position as previous reports indicated.

But it appears as though Kotsay has decided to remain in his current role with the Giants’ rivals across the Bay.

We should hear an announcement regarding the hire pretty soon. But before any hire is made, let’s briefly take a look at the backgrounds, strengths, and weaknesses of each of the final three candidates.
