Oakland Raiders: 3 players who could be traded away at the deadline
By Justin Fried
3. DeAndre Washington/Jalen Richard, RB
One of the highlights of the Raiders season thus far has been the emergence of rookie running back Josh Jacobs. The Raiders selected Jacobs with the 24th overall pick in this past draft and the rookie has wasted no time making a name for himself.
Through seven games, Jacobs has rushed for 620 yards and four touchdowns behind a stellar five yards per carry average. There remains a very good chance that Jacobs makes a case to earn Offensive Rooke of the Year given how well he’s played.
However, his arrival has signaled a step back in playing time for the other running backs on the roster.

Neither DeAndre Washington or Jalen Richard has seen many touches this season as a direct result of Jacobs’ production and both could find themselves on the trade block.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport indicated earlier in the week that either Washington or Richard could be on the move in the next day or so. He reported that teams have inquired about acquiring one of the two to bolster the depth of their backfield.
It’s unclear which of the two is more likely to be dealt but teams looking for a third-down, pass-catching specialist are likely to be more interested in Richard. On the other hand, teams in search of a quality backup runner with special teams abilities could look to target Washington.
Either way, one of the two may very well see their Oakland Raiders career come to an abrupt end before long.
