Is this a trap game for the Green Bay Packers in Week 7? It very well could be with how well the Oakland Raiders have been playing of late.

Coming off a bye and a huge upset win over the Chicago Bears in London, the Oakland Raiders now set their sights on Lambeau Field in Green Bay to take on Aaron Rodgers and the 5-1 Green Bay Packers.

And I think you’ll like what I have to say (as Raider fans) about the team’s chances to win this game.

On paper, this looks like a very favorable matchup for Green Bay at home. They’re 5-1 at the moment with wins over some very good teams this year like Dallas, Minnesota, Chicago, and Detroit.

The Raiders, on the other hand, are supposed to be a mess even though they’ve gotten off to a 3-2 start at the surprise of many.

But this may very well be a spot where the Packers could get caught, much like how they got caught by the Eagles a couple of weeks ago at home. There’s still a ton of questions surrounding who exactly Aaron Rodgers will be throwing to in this game.

Davante Adams has missed the last two while Geronimo Allison had to be removed from Monday’s game; Marquez Valdes-Scantling has appeared on the injury report as well.

That’s Green Bay’s top three receivers all on the block to potentially miss, leaving Rodgers with a crop of very young and inexperienced wideouts like Allen Lazard and Darrius Shepherd.

So, for the Packers, the injuries might just be too much to overcome if the Raiders can push the right buttons and catch a few breaks in this game.

On the defensive side, we have to see this amazing matchup for Josh Jacobs against the Packers defense. The Packers have one of the worst rush defenses in football right now ranking 23rd in rushing yards per game allowed (124.5).

We saw a couple weeks ago how the Eagles absolutely dominated them on the ground and at the line of scrimmage, and being that the Raiders are a team that likes to run the ball, similar results could occur here. Watch for Jacobs to have a big game.

Also watch for the Raiders’ offensive line to have success in protecting the passer. They’ve performed rather impressively up to this point as they’ve allowed the third-fewest sacks this year of nine.

Aside from the Vikings game, they’ve pretty much shut down every pass rush they’ve gone up against, which includes the Bradley Chubb/Von Miller duo in Denver and Khalil Mack of the Bears.

I think the Raiders are going to give the “Pack” a big scare in this game and push them to the fourth quarter.

Unfortunately, I’m going to have to stick with Green Bay and say Rodgers pulls it out in the fourth to win it and escape a tough test from a team they didn’t expect much from in the Raiders.

Green Bay is a five-point favorite. I’m taking the Raiders to cover that and barely lose 27-23 with a late Packers touchdown.

But hey, I’ve been wrong the past two weeks about the Raiders, so maybe they hold on and actually win.
