Golden State Warriors Position Preview: Analyzing the shooting guards
Jordan Poole
Jordan Poole is an exciting young rookie at only 20 years of age. He has bags of potential and could be a pretty important contributor right away, especially until Klay Thompson comes back.

Steve Kerr recently compared Poole to his injured star wing saying “I think of him as a very young version of Klay”. He talked about how he sees Poole as just a great shooter and a great cutter, but not someone who he particularly thinks of as a great passer of the ball.
If Poole can fill in some minutes for Thompson in the early part of the season, this will hopefully help develop him more quickly. He should be a player that can spot up on the wing and run to the corners on fast breaks.
He won’t be asked to do much in the ball-handling department as Russell, Curry, and Burks will be in charge of that. In the first half of the season, Poole will have a lot more minutes than in the second half, with Thompson back in the team.
If he performs well up until that point, he could earn himself some time on the court even when Thompson comes back, and then into the playoffs.
Verdict: Instant contributor, 16-20 minutes (pre-Klay), 0-10 minutes (post-Klay)
