Oakland Raiders: 3 realistic trades the team could make ahead of the deadline
By Justin Fried
The Oakland Raiders could be in the market to acquire some players in anticipation of a possible playoff push. Here are three realistic trade targets ahead of the deadline.
The Oakland Raiders have far exceeded many people’s expectations to start the 2019 season. While many hoped the Raiders would hover around .500 going into the season, few expected this team to be 3-2 going into their bye week.
And following upset victories away from home against both the Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Bears, the Raiders might be on the verge of making a playoff push.
Currently, the team holds the sixth seed in the AFC and while it’s still very early, that’s encouraging nonetheless. As a result, it might make sense for the Raiders to make a move or two at the deadline to strengthen their team down the stretch.
Oakland has already made two trades since the start of the 2019 season making moves to acquire both returner/receiver Trevor Davis from the Green Bay Packers and most-recently receiver Zay Jones from the Buffalo Bills.
However, there is still some work to do with this team.
While it could be fun to suggest trades for star-studded players like Patrick Peterson or Von Miller, they simply aren’t likely moves for this team at this stage.
With that, let’s take a look at three realistic trades the Raiders could make ahead of the October 29th deadline.
