The Golden State Warriors lost yet another game to the Los Angeles Lakers in a preseason game devoid of much star-power. Let’s take a look at three takeaways from Monday’s preseason loss.

The Golden State Warriors are officially less than 10 days away from kicking off their 2019-20 campaign. And through three preseason games, we’ve been able to see this new-look Warriors squad at work.

On Monday, the Warriors took on the Los Angeles Lakers for the second of four times this October and came away with the same result as the first game. A loss.

That said, it is only the preseason. The final results don’t matter nearly as much as how we get there. And if there’s anything to take away from Monday, it’s that we didn’t really see a matchup between the actual Warriors and Lakers teams.

Golden State decided to sit both D’Angelo Russell and Draymond Green while the Lakers sat pretty much their entire rotation including LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Kyle Kuzma, and Danny Green.

In fact, one of the only regular starters in this game was Stephen Curry who followed up his glorious 40-point showing against Minnesota with a 17-point dud in which he shot just 6-of-17.

But the preseason isn’t for players like Curry. Rather, the preseason is a time to play young talents and decide open roster spots by seeing these players participate in actual simulated games.

With that, let’s take a look at three takeaways from the Warriors’ 104-98 loss to the Lakers.
