I wrote the morning of the matchup with Cleveland that San Francisco was already the team to beat in the NFC, but they had yet to show their talent on a national stage.
A number of national pundits had referred to the Niners as a “fake” undefeated team and taken their record as solely a side effect of their weak schedule.
This team may be the most talented in football. They have the best defense and one of the best offensive masterminds calling plays. They have the second best point differential in the league (and they haven’t even played Miami).
Obviously, next week going to Los Angeles to take on the Rams they have a chance to further assert themselves in the upper echelon.
But even if they stumble, this is a talented football team capable of making a deep postseason run.
